Why I Hate Blogs
(And Why I Have One)

The Internet blog scene is full of biased authors spreading their own personal views with very little to back those views. No facts. Just opinions.

Now, of course, this is my own personal opinion, but it's one of the only times you'll ever hear me offer it. I don't believe in opinionated programming; I believe in facts.

Elsewhere, mainstream programming bloggers construct massive, complicated programs containing complex concepts. Most then utterly fail to describe how these programs work so that their readers can use them. I know; I've read their blogs, followed their instructions, and used their tools. Many times, what works for them won't work for me. Oftentimes, this is due to the sheer complexity of the programs they devise (which I'm fine with), coupled with a lack of readable instructions (which I'm not fine with). Keep building complex programs that do amazing things! Just, maybe, explain it to the rest of us in words we can understand!

I won't do that here.

On this website, you won't find any projects hard to implement, and everything will be explained in down-to-earth terms. I should also probably mention that I'm no advanced cyber-ultra-powered data scientist myself, so the way I'll explain things is the way I would want them explained to me: In common English.

This last bit is for you Mac users. I'm so tired of finding amazing applications (usually for advanced video editing software), only to discover that they only work on Windows. I myself have a MacBook Pro, and almost everything on this site will be Mac-compatabile. If it's not, I'll let you know. On a side note, if you're just getting started with using open source projects and you have a Mac, most Python scripts and Python-based apps will work on your machine, so long as you use virtual environments in concert with pip. Have no idea what those are? Read my article, Python Virtual Environments For Beginners, to get started!
